Pilling Tester, or ICI Pilling Tester (Pilling Box), is used to test the pilling propensity of fabrics (especially wool knitted fabrics) under non-pressure conditions. Specimens mounted on polyurethane tubes tumble randomly in a wooden box lined with cork at a constant rotational speed. After a specified number of tumbling cycles, the pilling and fuzzing performance is evaluated through visual description.
