The absorption rate test differs from the infiltration volume test. This instrument is designed to measure the speed at which a specimen absorbs a quantitative amount of standard test liquid.

Compliance Standards:
Complies with GB/T 8939-2025 (Sanitary napkins/pads), GB/T 39391-2020, GB 15979-2024, and ISO 12625.

Instrument Features:
Touch screen operation with a built-in thermal printer. Features automatic lowering and alignment, liquid supply, timing, and lifting functions.

Test Procedures:

1. Place the sanitary napkin absorption rate tester on a level surface. Pour a certain amount of standard synthetic test liquid into the reservoir. Start the instrument and click the "Rinse" button to rinse the system twice. Calibrate the liquid volume of the automatic dispensing device according to the instrument's manual.

2. Remove the curved specimen holder and place it on a level table. Take a specimen, peel off the release paper from the bottom, and gently adhere it to the curved test area of the holder. When pasting, ensure the front end of the specimen is on the left side of the holder and the back end is on the right side. Align the center line of the wings with the corresponding line of the liquid outlet on the holder, and stick the wings to both sides of the curved specimen holder. Then, place the holder with the specimen onto the fixed position of the tester.

3. Enter the test interface of the absorption rate tester. Ensure the standard test module can fall freely onto the specimen surface. Click "Test". The automatic dispensing device will add 5 ml of standard synthetic test liquid into the standard test module, and the timer will start automatically. It stops timing automatically once the 5 ml of test liquid is fully absorbed.

4. After the test, wipe the bottom of the standard test module clean with a clean tissue. Remove the curved specimen holder, peel off the tested specimen, and prepare for the next test.

5. Obtain at least 5 valid data points for each sample.

6. After completing all tests, clean the absorption rate tester and the standard test module with distilled water or deionized water.

7. Expression of Results: The result is expressed as the arithmetic mean of the test values of 5 specimens, in seconds (s), rounded to the nearest whole number.

The "Sanitary Napkin Absorption Rate Tester" used in the above experimental steps is a newly developed testing equipment for sanitary products, independently designed and researched according to GB/T 8939-2018.
