【Operating Instructions】
**YS372 Sharp Point Tester**
**【Scope of Application】**
Used to detect whether there are hazardous sharp points in accessible areas of toys.
**【Applicable Standards】**
- US: 16 CFR 1500.48 / ASTM F963 4.8
- EU: EN‑71 1998 8.14
- China: GB6675‑2003 A.5.9
**【Technical Parameters】**
- **Dimensions:** 112 × 16 × 16 mm
- **Weight:** 80 g
- **Accessory:** 1 lb weight (stainless steel)
**【Usage and Explanation】**
1. Place the sharp point tester over the accessible point to be tested. Check whether the point can be inserted
into the measuring slot to the specified depth. Insert the test point into the measuring slot and apply a 1 lb force.
If the indicator light turns on, the point is considered a sharp point.
2. Wood splinters in wooden toys are considered hazardous sharp points and must not be present on the toy.
3. Before each inspection, the sensing head must be adjusted according to the specified procedure to ensure accuracy and sensitivity.
4. To adjust the sharp point tester:
- Loosen the locking ring and move it forward toward the indicator device sufficiently to expose the calibration reference mark on the circle.
- Turn the measuring cap clockwise until the indicator light flashes.
- Turn the measuring cap counterclockwise until the appropriate micrometer mark aligns with the calibration reference mark.
- Rotate the locking ring until it contacts the measuring cap to secure the measuring cap in place.
