Scope of Application
Used to determine the fire stability of fire-resistant gypsum boards. Also applicable for testing the fire performance of other building materials, decorative materials, and finishing materials.
Compliance Standards
Design Standard: GB/T9775-2008 (ISO6308: 1980) "Gypsum plasterboards"
Instrument Features
The specimen is drilled and conditioned under specified environmental conditions. It is then suspended by a support rod between two burner nozzles, which are perpendicular to the specimen surface. Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) is used as the heat source to supply the two burners of the stability tester; the distance from the burner nozzle to the board surface is 30mm. According to the standard, a load is suspended from the lower end of the specimen, and the burners are ignited. A thermocouple measures the temperature at a distance of 5mm from the board surface. During the initial stage of the test, carbonized facing paper falling onto the thermocouple should be removed without causing the specimen to vibrate. Through adjustment, the temperature is controlled at (800±30)℃ within 3 minutes and maintained at this level throughout the test. Timing starts from when the specimen is exposed to fire until it fractures and fails. The time for each specimen to burn through is recorded; the minimum value among five specimens is taken as the fire stability of that sample group, precise to 1 minute.
